Fire could destroy, but it could also save a life.
On a rainy day were there two teenage girls standing on their school’s rooftop. One stands on the ground, while the other stands on the ledge.
“There is nothing that matters!” The one on the ledge cries. “No one cares! I want to sleep and never wake up again!”
“I care!” The other yells. “And you have a family who cares about you so much!”
The girl grabs onto the other’s arm to prevent her from falling, her flame of determination burning brightly against the storm.
Fire could destroy, but it could also save a life.
At the hospital, a mother was giving birth to her baby boy.
“This is bad.” The nurse says. “She’s losing too much blood.”
Her husband grips his beloved wife’s hand and stares intensely at her as if he can pour flames to add to the fuel that is her life.
“Don’t die.” His eyes read.
Fire could destroy, but it could also save a life.
A mother wails as she stares at her burning home.
“My daughter is still inside!” She flails furiously, but the firemen restrain her from returning back inside.
A fireman stares at the house, already completely covered in flames. There is almost no chance of survival.
“I’m going in!” He announces, charging inside before others could stop him.
Fire could destroy, but it could also save a life.
That night, when the rain stopped, the fire weaved into these events burnt as bright as the sun. The fire of friendship lived on, as the two teenage girls sobbed in each other’s arms safely on the ground. The fire of love lit up a new one, with a baby boy cradled in the arms of his loving parents. And the fire of life rekindled as the fireman emerged from the blazing house, carrying a half-conscious young girl in his arms.
Fire could destroy, but it could also save a life. Because fire is the strongest tool a human can have within their soul and their heart. Because fire is life itself.
