As you all know, we're all facing a pandemic right now. And a lot of us reading this are on the same boat, with our Zoom software installed in our laptops listening to our professors speak to our camera. We can't really go out to meet with friends, go to the gym, or any of that jazz as much as we used to. So how can we keep ourselves productive and healthy while most of our time now is staying indoors?
Here's some ideas and suggestions that can help you while we're in this virus crisis together:
1. Read! THE go-to indoor activity for many people out there. Read any books that have been untouched in your shelf. Or if you read everything already, check out the Book Depository website where you can purchase new books online! Right now, I'm reading a lot of personal development books, some YA fiction that I haven't come across to reading yet, and books in foreign languages to pick up a new skill! Which segues to the next idea.

2. Pick up a new skill! What have you always wanted to try but never had the time to try it? Well, the virus won't stop you from doing that! It can be baking, knitting, learning a new language, planting flowers, painting, playing an instrument, or doing some cartwheels (lol). Either way, there are a lot of skills that you could pick up indoors that would be useful for you. This way, you can even discover a new stress-reliever and a hobby that you will become passionate about! Of course, it's hard to do any outdoor skills right now, like skateboarding or playing basketball, so that's why you can find another skill that brings you excitement and eagerness to learn.

3. Exercise! Oh, the virus shan't not stop you from being healthy, alright! And this gives us all the more reason to exercise and stay healthy! Do some cardio and some core exercises. You can still work on your push-ups, sit-ups and a lot of other workouts. They do say that 20 minutes of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) already burns more than 200 calories.

4. Have a side hustle! Another thing a virus couldn't get rid of: a side hustle! This is probably my favorite tip to give because side hustles are so exciting! This is what you're passionate about and something that you want to do to create an impact for people and of course, for yourself (get that passive income LMAO). This can be creating a YouTube channel, making a blog, investing, writing a novel, establishing a startup, managing a social media project and more! I've been doing my part in side hustling and this is a good time to think about what you would like to create for yourself as well!

5. Make a plan. A lot of us still don't know what we're doing. And that's completely fine. Sometimes it takes weeks, months and even years! But even so, you can still make a plan for yourself. Make a plan on what you want to achieve and make something like a resolution list for the year. Do you want to get a job? Buy a house? When do you want to start? When do you see yourself getting there? You don't have to be strict with yourself and say "oh, I'll buy a house next year!", but at least write down what you want and make your actions consistent in achieving that. But some of us don't know what we even want, so start with what you don't want. Where will you never want yourself to go? Steer your actions away from that! It's a small steps, big results thing.
Although these times look tough, and the news look especially depressing, there is so much hope that we have for ourselves and the world around us. Take your time in finding out what you're interested in and what your goals are! The coronavirus has instilled fear in many of us, but we should remember how strong we are and how we got through many socially and even globally-wide hurdles when we stood together. We can learn from these experiences and not make them stop our growth and faith in ourselves. So keep fighting, we can all get through this if we hold our heads high!
And remember, if you go outside, wash your hands, bring a hand sanitiser, wear a mask and don't touch any public handrails if possible! Stay safe everyone!
